Jessica Kuhn

Jessica Kuhn is solo cellist with the Bavarian Chamber Orchestra and cellist with the New Ensemble Hannover, KlangForum Heidelberg, and Ensemble plus Bregenz.
Guest engagements have taken her to Musikfabrik Köln and oenm (österreichisches ensemble für neue musik) (Austrian ensemble for new music).

Her busy concert schedule encompasses music from the 17th to 21st centuries, with a focus on contemporary music.

Jessica Kuhn has performed at the Barbican Center in London, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the philharmonic halls in Cologne and Berlin, the Musikfest Berlin, the Agora Festival in Paris, the Festival op. 52 in Nizhny Novgorod, the Festival Al Bustan in Beirut, the Days of New Music in Izmir, as well as in New York and Vancouver.

She has released six CDs, both as a soloist and with various ensembles. In the contemporary music scene, she has worked with composers such as Harrisson Birtwistle, Helmut Lachenmann, Samir Odeh Tamimi, Liza Lim, and Isabel Mundry, as well as conductors Peter Eötvös, Peter Rundel, Enno Poppe, and Clement Power.

From 2013 to 2021, Jessica Kuhn directed the Munich concert series sonorizzonte, which she founded. This gave rise to the ensemble sonorizzonte, which is still active today.

In 2023, she developed the workshop „Klangwelten entdecken“ (“Discovering Worlds of Sound”) for children and young people, which she has since been organizing regularly in music schools and schools.
