Sarah Kuppinger
Sopran
Born in Karlsruhe, soprano Sarah Kuppinger discovered her love for concert and song repertoire at an early age and sings works ranging from the Renaissance to the modern era. In addition to numerous world premieres, where she has performed alongside greats such as Sarah Maria Sun and at festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, she is increasingly devoting herself to early music. In recent years, she has performed several times at the International Handel Festival in Karlsruhe, and in March 2025 she sang as a soloist under the baton of Hans-Christoph Rademann and Jos van Feldhoven as part of the International Bach Academy Stuttgart. The multiple prize winner of national and international competitions such as the 6th International Organ and Vocal Competition in Neuss has already performed as a soloist with the Detmold Chamber Orchestra and members of the Badische Staatskapelle, among others.
In addition to her solo work, Sarah Kuppinger is active in numerous ensembles such as KlangForum Heidelberg and cantando admont. After completing her bachelor's degree in voice with Prof. Gerhild Romberger and a degree in violin, she has been studying for her master's degree in voice with Prof. Christiane Libor and Stephan Klemm at the HfM Karlsruhe since 2024.
In order to encourage and introduce young people and young adults who have had little or no access to choral music to choral music, Sarah Kuppinger founded the choirs VocalUp and VocalUp+ in 2021 and 2022, which have won several awards for both their musical level and their innovative concert formats.
Sarah Kuppinger has already received support from the Peter and Luise Hager Foundation, YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Oberrhein e. V., and the DAAD (PROMOS), and has been a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation since 2020.
Sarah Kuppinger has been a member of KlangForum Heidelberg since 2022.
