Konzert Heidelberger Frühling 2025

The concert at the Heidelberg Spring Festival was recorded by SWR Kultur and will be broadcast on April 21 as part of the midday concert series. SWR writes:

"The KlangForum Heidelberg is performing at the Heidelberg Spring Festival with a program that, as usual, is rich in contrasts and connections: Scarlatti follows the suffering of Mary under the cross with impulsive music for expanded vocal ensemble. Johannes Brahms’ motets feature traditional forms infused with a new, Romantic spirit. In the world premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino’s work "Due Cori," based on Aeschylus’s tragedy "Agamemnon," Cassandra laments the fickleness of human fate, and in "Mit geschlossenem Mund," (with mouth closed) the singers bid farewell to the Karlsruhe composer Wolfgang Rihm, who passed away in 2024."

Domenico Scarlatti: Stabat Mater
Wolfgang Rihm: "Mit geschlossenem Mund"
Alexander von Zemlinsky: "Die Mädchen mit den verbundenen Augen" (The Blindfolded Girls) Op. 13 No. 2
Salvatore Sciarrino: Due Cori (world premiere)
Alexander von Zemlinsky: "Und kehrt er einst heim" (And when he returns home), Op. 13 No. 5
Johannes Brahms: 3 Motets, Op. 110
