Stuck in lockdown?

Not here! Every Friday, we’ll be sharing an unpublished gem from our archives that we’ve reimagined just for you.

First, we are publishing our recording of a work that Walter Nußbaum and SCHOLA HEIDELBERG have explored in particular depth: rarely do twelve voices come together so ingeniously to form a polyphonic tapestry so rich in spirit and allusion as in the Three Madrigal Comedies (1963/90) by composer and conductor Peter Eötvös (*1944). This evocative work, newly visualized for this first release, draws on the Italian madrigal art of the late Renaissance and incorporates texts and motifs by Carlo Gesualdo. At the same time, it offers three masterpieces of contemporary vocal art.

So take a look and have a listen! And enjoy!
