SCHOLA Heidelberg

No instrument is as versatile as the human voice. The SCHOLA HEIDELBERG underlines this with calligraphically fine and cartoonishly bright pieces. Yaron Deutsch and Andreas Mildner create subtle contrasts with electric guitar and harp.

Vocal artistry and string playing dominate the point at which the festival inevitably heads toward its finale. The SCHOLA HEIDELBERG ventures into the cartoon- Thicket of musical decoys by Benjamin Scheuer, honoring the transience of the mayfly with Yiran Zhao and preparing with Agata Zubel for the realization of the harmony of the spheres according to a text by the Polish cult author Stanislaw Lem. Andreas Mildner sets a calligraphic counterpoint on the harp with a piece by Eun-Hwa Cho, and Yaron Deutsch plays a "medieval" chanson by Klaus Lang on his electric guitar.
