Adam Weisman

Adam Weisman studied with Fred Hinger and Chris Lamb at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, with Sylvio Gualda in Versailles, and with Peter Sadlo and Robyn Schulkowsky in Munich. In 1991, he won third prize at the ARD Music Competition in Munich and in 1992, second prize at the International Music Competition in Geneva.

He played contemporary music with the New Music Consort an the NewBand in New York from 1988 to 1990, as well as with the Ensemble Modern, the Klangforum Wien (resident member 1997-98, 2004-05), with Ascolta (posthumous premiere of Frank Zappa), with Zeitkratzer (concerts with Lou Reed), and the Scharoun Ensemble (members of the Berlin Philharmonic).

He is a member of Berlin PianoPercussion and AsianArt Ensemble. He has participated in 25 Klangforum Wien CD productions. His solo CD, Mani, was included in the 2011 list of the best contemporary music recordings by the German Record Critics' Association.

He has been active with KlangForum Heidelberg since its founding.
