PAROLE e Testi

Alongside the tension of spoken and written words, narration and musical setting, time itself plays a major part on the CD Parole e testi. But also Luigi Nono’s "Polifonica – Monodia – Ritmica" and its dramatic reconstructions by Hermann Scherchen in 1951, inspired this compendium. By including and contrasting the historical recordings of Scherchen’s world premiere, our CD offers a new reconstruction to the listener. This early instrumental work by Nono is combined with "Sarà dolce tacere", an outstanding vocal composition referring to a poem by Cesare Pavese.

Two a cappella compositions by Salvatore Sciarrino – who in many aspects is congenial to Nono – round up this CD. "L’alibi della parola" and "Tre canti senza pietre" give testimony to the close collaboration of the SCHOLA HEIDELBERG under the direction of Walter Nußbaum with Salvatore Sciarrino.
